A limited number of users have reported a serious problem with Map360 if they have a drawing with lots of graphics, an attached pointcloud, or high resolution attached imagery:
The program works normally, but if they save the drawing or perform an operation that triggers a save (ie: Autosave occurs) the program becomes unresponsive. Occasionally the dwg file is replaced by a file with the extension *.$$$.
This problem seems to be limited to a small number of graphics cards and workstation configurations, (Docking ports often are in use when we hear about this.) Here is a summary of the steps the support team goes through to address this issue:
STEP 1:
In most cases we can resolve the issue by ensuring that video drivers are updated from the manufacturer's website. See the articles below for more information:
STEP 2:
If the above steps don't work, turning off hardware acceleration often helps, but it can slow performance:
Type hwacceleration
Command: hwacceleration
Set it to 0
Enter new value for HWACCELERATION <1>: 0
Close and reopen the program
STEP 3:
If this does not resolve the problem, you can disable the feature that captures a thumbnail image when you save by:
Type RASTERPREVIEW
Command: RASTERPREVIEW
Set it to 0
Enter new value for RASTERPREVIEW <1>: 0
Close and reopen the program
We would like to hear from you if you run into this issue (even if the steps above helped you to resolve the problem) as your reports can be used to help us work with the IntelliCAD consortium to further improve the CAD engine for all users.
