Sometimes a scene can be measured by more than one instrument or teams of investigators to save time. While it is possible to share common points or have the second team resect to the first crew's points, sometimes time does not allow for these careful steps to take place. If this occurs, it's best to simply have the two teams of investigators complete a map of their section of the scene and combine the results in the drawing later on.
It's important to note that the evidence log and Measurement log will only show half of the measurements after this procedure is followed, so keep both original documents in case they are required for exhibit.
